Ucluelet Co-op is looking for passionate and community-oriented Relief Pharmacists for the Pharmacy located in our Main Store in Ucluelet, B.C. located on the beautiful West Coast of Vancouver Island! This unique position is perfect for a community centered pharmacist who wants to get to know their clients. We are an essential health service hub that responds to the needs of the community and pharmacy. Our ideal Relief Pharmacist would work 2 – 3 days a week.

What you’ll do:
As a member of the Pharmacy department team, a Staff Pharmacist is responsible for
- Provide patient-focused services such as injections, medication reviews, and minor ailment prescribing.
- Offer professional advice and counseling on prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications, including recommendations, dosage, adverse effects, and drug interactions.
- Promote health and wellness, engaging with customers through community events and clinics.
- Deliver accurate medication preparation and counseling, maintaining high standards of service.
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in policy development and implementation to meet legislative and accrediting body standards.
- Oversee medication dispensing processes to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professional for optimal patient care.
- Stay updated with developments in the pharmacy profession and participate in industry association events.
- Complete adjudication and sale of prescriptions and other purchases using the pharmacy software and point of sale (POS) systems.
Understand and ensure efficiency of logistical processes to maintain adequate supplies.

You will report to the Pharmacy Manager and work with the pharmacy team to demonstrate customer focus and strive for a culture of trust, teamwork, and self-development. Our current Pharmacy Manager is Riz Gumpac, recipient of British Columbia Pharmacy Association's New Practitioner Award 2022!
Our Pharmacy is currently open 6 days a week, 9 AM to 6 PM with a 1 hour lunch break.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Pharmacy and:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Phm.) or Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
- Pharmacy license in good standing with the College of Pharmacists in British Columbia or eligibility for licensure in BC within the next 6 months.
- Professional, trustworthy and results oriented.
- Someone who builds rapport with customers and patients.
- Passionate about supporting and understanding of health issues facing Indigenous communities.
- Can work in a team environment or independently, have strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Want to join an engaging and active community with diverse needs.
What we offer:
- Current salary range of $60 - $80 per hour.
